Institute for Global Health

  • Partnered with USC’s Institute for Global Health to research intersections between digital studies and global health.
  • Incorporated research findings into an interdisciplinary, project-based curriculum for a class to be taught in Spring 2012. Helped craft the syllabus, reading list, potential media projects, and lesson plans.
  • Developed a media-rich, interactive map project on contemporary outbreaks of cholera in Haiti (integrated with the platform, Hypercities).
  • Conceptualized and wrote a Visions and Voices grant for a panel on disease mapping between popular writer Steven Johnson and epidemiologist Tom Koch. Proposal can be found here.
